川普對難民祭出入境禁令，不只讓大批難民被拒於門外，還引發難民出走潮，許多已經身在美國的難民，因熱門為覺得不受歡迎，紛紛選擇出走加拿大，但一路上風雪交加，寒風刺骨，有人差點就被活活凍死。
大半夜的，天寒地凍，這群人卻扛著大包小包，徒步要穿越邊界，不過他們並不是要前往美國，而是要從美國出走，而目的地，就是鄰國加拿大。
CNN記者：「難民會選在半夜從美國出逃加拿大，我右後方是明尼蘇達州，我左手邊是北卡羅來納州，這裡則是加拿大的愛默森，這裡的邊境很容易穿越，因為除了雪之外沒什麼東西阻擋你。」
這4名男子，就是選擇摸黑出逃。但過程之艱辛，卻遠超乎他們想像，有人因此被凍傷，還差點被活活凍死。
尋求庇護的索馬利亞人阿梅德：「真不敢相信我現在還能活著跟你講話，尋求庇護的索馬利亞人侯笙，過程非常非常艱辛。」
CNN記者：「人們在雪深及膝的雪地裡徒步行走，頂著零下低溫連走好幾個小時。」
而他們之所以選擇搏命出逃，全都因川普對難民和穆斯林的一紙禁令。

位於美加邊界附近的加拿大小鎮，愛默森，最近就湧入大量非法移民，讓當局相當頭大，擔心治安出問題，不過並不是所有非法越境者，都來自川普黑名單上的穆斯林國家，這2名迦納男子，因為身為同性戀，在國內可能小命不保，才雙雙出逃，沒想到手指竟凍傷壞死，最後慘遭截肢。
尋求庇護的迦納男子羅由：「我沒想到會變成這樣。」
不過再大的風雪，還是阻擋不了難民潮。未來恐怕還會有更多難民，前仆後繼，逃往加拿大。（民視新聞綜合報導）
「醫生怎麼辦？我的孩子一直喘不停，請救救他！」台中一名新生兒出生六天後，突然呼吸急促，母親急得帶嬰兒直奔急診，經檢查發現是小兒先天性心臟病，立即插管並住進加護病房治療，經手術後救回一命。目前術後恢復良好，醫師提醒，若新生兒出現類似狀況，卻無及時就醫，極有可能有致命危險。
兒童評價心臟科主治醫師莊子瑤日前收治一名出生六天大的嬰兒，當時孩子呼吸非常急促不穩定，彷如隨時要中止呼吸，患者父母慌張得帶小孩到急診求救，經心臟超音波檢查為「全肺靜脈回流異常」，緊急照會心臟外科醫師開刀，經開刀矯正後順利拔管出院。
莊子瑤表示，據統計每一千個新生兒中，約有七到十個孩子可能患有先天性心臟病，其中又有四分之一的個案出生後須馬上處理，否則兩周內會有死亡危險。
通常母親懷孕第八至九周時，胎兒的心臟已經發育完成，此時就有機會了解胎兒的心臟發育是否受阻，若心臟結構異常，則部份新生兒出生後就要接受緊急開刀手術，才有機會治癒。
莊子瑤提醒，當孩子發生呼吸急促的現象，許多家長會以為是孩子的肺部發生問題，但其實更應該到小兒心臟科做進一步檢查，而治療方式可分為心導管手術及外科手術，兩者都可治療小兒先天性心臟病；也建議，母親在懷孕時應做高層次超音波篩檢，通常複雜性心臟病可藉此被篩檢出來，若孩子真的罹患先天性心臟病，一出生就必須做新生兒檢查，才能把握黃金時間治療。
